Predixion Healthcare Analytics Acquired

In the US, cognitive clinical science specialist Jvion has acquired the Healthcare IT practice of predictive analytics software firm Predixion. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Aliso Viejo, CA-based Predixion offers an insight tool for sharing models, datasets and results between individuals or groups, and features data sampling, model building and performance evaluation capabilities. Uses include studies on key influencers and shopping basket analysis. The firm is backed by firms including GE Software Ventures, Accenture and Frost Venture Partners, and has raised more than $42m in funding to date.

Jvion says the acquisition will add to its own solutions - based on search engine cognitive machine technology - which is used by providers to predict the future state of a specific patient's health, and identify the most effective actions to reduce the risk of illness. Steve De Santis (pictured), co-founder and CFO of Predixion, comments: 'Joining Jvion will expand and accelerate the value that we deliver our clients. We are looking forward to augmenting the reach of Jvion's cognitive power so that we can help more patients across more care settings with remarkable speed and precision'.
