In the US, retail data specialist NPD has launched a tool to help retailers understand where they have permission to price items differently from the rest of the market.
NPD's new Price Permission tool analyzes item pricing and behavior online and in-store, based on the firm's weekly store-level enabled point-of-sale data. Tapping into the firm's ability to access this level of information across entire industries, retailers can see where to invest and where consumers are willing to spend more.
Mike Noonan (pictured), SVP, Solutions Product Development, comments: 'Price variation is a critical component for retailers in differentiating themselves from the marketplace. The Price Permission product is a powerful tool in NPD's analytic solutions toolbox, offering unparalleled insights that help retailers drive sales, margin, and their business forward'.
