British CX Firm Sold to Bloomreach for $150m

January 29 2021

London-based customer data and experience platform ('CDXP') Exponea has been acquired by digital and commerce experience specialist Bloomreach for $150m, funded by investment company Sixth Street Growth.

Peter IrikovskyExponea's CDXP ingests and analyses a wide range of customer data, enriches it with AI and then activates it to deliver personalized experiences across all touchpoints, in real time and at scale. In addition to the functionality of a traditional customer data platform (CDP) - such as data collection, segmentation and activation - the platform also provides modules such as campaign management, onsite testing and personalization for customer experience channels such as e-mail and integrated paid digital across PPC, social and programmatic.

Bloomreach says its own eCommerce search and content services combined with Exponea's CDP and marketing automation will create an integrated product and customer data platform for its real-time, AI-based recommendations. As part of the deal, all Exponea employees - based in London, Bratislava, Brno, Moscow and Atlanta - will stay with the business, and will be offered stock options in the combined company.

Peter Irikovsky (pictured), CEO and co-founder of Exponea, comments: 'Together, we'll be the only solution provider capable of bringing holistic data, expertise and intentionality to the way brands interact with their customers. I can't wait to see how our clients from both sides reap the benefits in how they operate and the results they generate, particularly in the US market'.
