Sportradar Buys Australia's InteractSport

May 14 2021

Switzerland-based sports data collection and analysis provider Sportradar has acquired Australian insights and technology company InteractSport, for an undisclosed sum.

Sam Taylor and Carsten KoerlMelbourne-based InteractSport offers solutions to manage the information of more than four million participants, used by around 20,000 sports organisations. The firm's suite of digital sports management platforms features competition management capabilities and fan-friendly web and mobile apps; as well as a data collection tool for cricket, which the firm says has a fanbase of more than two billion globally.

Sportradar says combining its own commercialisation and distribution framework with InteractSport's products, content creation capabilities and subject matter expertise, will allow it to unlock 'significant growth' within regional and global markets. Sam Taylor, CEO of InteractSport, says the deal provides the opportunity to combine his firm's digital and data capture solutions with Sportradar's capabilities as well as the billions of fans of the relevant sports around the world.

Carsten Koerl, Sportradar Group CEO, adds: 'This acquisition provides Sportradar with the opportunity to widen its data and content offering. With cricket being one of the most popular sports in the world, we see this as a growth opportunity for the company, especially given the significance of the sport in the Asian region'.
