SimilarWeb Teams with US Retail Giants

December 23 2021

Israel-based digital market intelligence company SimilarWeb has added consumer insights from Walmart, Target, Best Buy and pet food retailer Chewy to its Shopper Intelligence solution, which launched in July with insights from Amazon.

Benjamin SerorSimilarWeb, which also has an office in Sydney, Australia, offers a platform for understanding online behavior, using a proprietary algorithm which produces traffic and engagement statistics, taking into account the behavior of visitors to similar kinds of sites. Its technology aggregates hundreds of sources, which combine with advanced machine learning algorithms to help understand digital activity.

The firm says its Shopper Intelligence platform now provides insights into approximately 78% of all sales volume from the top ten online stores in the US. This includes consumer browsing and purchasing behavior and information on category, brand and product-level performance across the most popular retailers and marketplaces.

Benjamin Seror (pictured), Chief Product Officer, comments: 'Traditional digital shelf and market research companies have struggled for years to provide sales and market-share data for retailers other than Amazon, whereas in just six months we've made significant strides in this area. The release of insights for Walmart, Target, Best Buy and Chewy within Shopper Intelligence highlights our ability to innovate at a rapid pace to meet customer needs'.
