Funds for Customer Advocacy Platform Mention Me

January 21 2022

London-based customer advocacy platform Mention Me has raised $25m in a Series B round of funding, for use in international expansion - specifically to the US; for product development; and to make senior hires.

Andy CockburnMention Me helps businesses convert referrals into a channel for acquiring customers, while gathering first-party data. Its platform integrates into clients' web sites to serve targeted content to engage customer segments and drive actions, such as buying again, giving Net Promoter Score (NPS) feedback or referring friends.

New funding has been led by Octopus Ventures, with participation from Eight Roads Ventures, the lead investor in the firm's previous $7m Series A round in a 2018. The investment will also be used for further development of Mention Me's approach to applying AI and machine-learning to referral data, to help brands identify their biggest fans.

Mention Me CEO and co-founder Andy Cockburn (pictured) comments: 'With third-party data disappearing, paid social delivering diminishing returns and consumers increasingly overwhelmed by endless brand advertising, our technology puts advocacy at the heart of marketing to reconnect marketers and consumers. Our new funds will help us expand our offering and presence to enable all businesses to harness the exponential power of their fans, inspiring every CEO and CMO to think advocacy-first'.
