New Funds for Enterprise Data Analytics Firm Promethium

February 11 2022

In the US, enterprise self-service data analytics platform Promethium has raised $26m in a Series A round of funding, which it will use to expand its sales and marketing efforts, and further develop its products.

Kaycee LaiMelo Park, California-based Promethium helps data and analytics teams manage their business data. Through the firm's patented data profiling technology, more people across the organization can use data, without the need for a technical understanding of the data infrastructure or waiting for data engineers. According to the company, its solutions are not dependent on manual SQL scripting, and they deliver insight within minutes instead of months.

New funding has been led by Insight Partners, with participation from existing investors 406 Ventures and Zetta Venture Partners, bringing the total raised since Promethium's 2018 launch to $34.5m. Promethium CEO and founder Kaycee Lai (pictured) comments: 'When I worked as a data analyst the workflows were slow and broken, and there wasn't one single solution that made it faster and easier for everyone - technical or not - to leverage data. So, we built one. This Series A investment will allow us to ramp up hiring on sales, marketing, product and engineering to fuel the number of enterprises using Promethium to create data-driven answers.'
