Behavioral Analyst Solsten Raises $22m

August 19 2022

Solsten, which uses artificial intelligence to understand human behavior in the digital world, has raised $22m in a Series B round of funding.

Joe Schaeppi and Bastian BergmannSolsten helps companies, predominantly in the gaming industry, create digital experiences through the analysis of human psychology, and then predict how a particular experience, piece of creative or whole user journey will resonate with an audience. The firm's tool 'Frequency' focuses on the latter; while 'Navigator' helps identify a product's best audience; and 'Traits' provides in-depth personality profiles to enable the creation of audience segments. The firm is headquartered in Minneapolis, having been founded in Berlin in 2018 by Joe Schaeppi (pictured left) and Bastian Bergmann (right).

The new funding brings the total raised to date to around $31m and was led by investment firm Konvoy, with participation from returning investors Inventure, GFR Fund, Sisu Game Ventures, and University of Wisconsin-Madison alumni fund Bascom Ventures. The round also included new investors Galaxy Interactive, Dentsu Ventures and Warburg Serres.

Schaeppi comments: 'At Solsten, we're advancing the ability for technology to understand human psychology and sociology all while keeping individual users completely anonymous. We support companies building the future of our digital world so that they can confidently architect the next generation of digital experiences knowing that they're both highly impactful for their audiences and great for their business'.
