Funds for Auto Data Firm CerebrumX Labs

Novi, Michigan-based, AI-driven automotive data services provider CerebrumX Labs has received an undisclosed strategic investment from mobile tech veteran BlackBerry, which it will use to ramp up the delivery of data-driven in-vehicle products and services.

Sandip RanjhanCerebrumX uses artificial intelligence to offer data and insights to OEMs (original equipment manufacturers), media, insurers, fleet companies and smart cities. The firm's deep learning platform collects and consolidates data from its partners and other third-party apps and devices, to allows users to activate connected vehicle data.

With the new funding and by integrating with BlackBerry IVY, BlackBerry's automotive AI platform, CerebrumX will develop embedded in-car synthetic sensors to collect consented data and deliver real-time insights to inform in-demand applications such as driver and vehicle health scores.
