Synovate Appointments

Synovate has announced senior hirings in its Healthcare division and its units in the Mediterranean and Middle East. Simon Woodlock and Christian Batte join the company while Andreas Zachariou moves territories.

Woodlock becomes Chief Financial Officer of Synovate Healthcare, starting in January 2005. He spent eight years at NOP, firstly as CFO of NOP Research Group and then as European Chief Financial Officer at NOP World. Prior to this, he worked in financial roles at Direct Line and Landis & Gyr Communications.

Whilst at NOP, Woodlock focused on the strategic financial management of divisions within the UK, Germany, Italy and the Philippines, and led changes within the US accounting functions. He also helped lead corporate development strategy and execution, most recently the Eurisko acquisition. He is a Chartered Management Accountant, holds a BA (Hons) from Kingston University and has lived in the Middle East, Bermuda, the Seychelles and Hong Kong. He will continue to be based in the UK.

Batte becomes General Manager of Synovate's Maghreb operations - he will be responsible for managing and developing the company's research business in Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia. Batte was previously General Manager of Affimetrie SAS, a French company specialising in outdoor advertising audience measurement. He has almost 20 years experience in market research and holds a Doctorate in Psychology from the University of Paris X, Nanterre.

Zachariou is the new General Manager of the company's UAE office, reporting to MD Arabian Gulf Andreas Gregoriou. Zachariou will be responsible for managing and developing Synovate's research business in the UAE, Kuwait and Iran. He has been working as General Manager of Synovate's office in Greece and was previously part of their Saudi Arabia operation.
