OPERA Adds Transport Division

UK agency OPERA has appointed Mary Thomas, formerly of Faber Maunsell, as Research Director heading up a new division, OPERA Transport Research.

Thomas was Faber Maunsell's Head of Market Research, and her responsibilities covered transport related sectors and other business areas.

Steven Colling founded OPERA in 1993 under the brand MAP Research - it was rebranded as OPERA in 2001 and offers full service qual and quant from its base in East Anglia. It has five existing divisions - OPERA Building Research, OPERA Community Research, OPERA Digital Research, OPERA Financial Research and OPERA Primary Research. The Transport division adds a further dimension and draws on the strengths of other divisions with the group, for example Community, which has key strengths in consultation and social research and Primary, which concentrates on the youth market.
