MSN Director and First Hispanic Member Join ARF Board

April 28 2005

The USA's Advertising Research Foundation (ARF) has added four new Directors to the 35 already on its Board: Steven Fredericks of TNS Media Intelligence, Stephen Kim from MSN, Brian McAndrews, head of aQuantive and Jessica Pantanini of Bromley Communications, who is the Board's first Hispanic member.

Fredericks is President & CEO, TNS Media Intelligence. In his 25-year career in the industry, he has served as CEO and President of Internet program guide JASSNet, as Adjunct Associate Professor of Marketing and Finance at New York University's Stern School of Business and as President and CFO of Internetstudios.com, Inc. He also held a series of top management positions at Digital Domain, Inc., working on films including Titanic, Apollo 13 and True Lies.

Kim is Director of Media Research at MSN, which agreed a ten-year strategic alliance with the ARF in March, including sponsorship of the Ogilvy Awards (www.mrweb.com/drno/news3864.htm ). Kim recently led a consortium of marketers and researchers in developing the groundbreaking Advertising Accountability Studies to demonstrate the efficiency of online advertising. He is the current Chair of the Internet Committee at the Media Ratings Council and Co-Chair of the Interactive Advertising Bureau's Research Council. Previously, he worked as Chief Research Officer at Media Metrix, where he spent six years.

McAndrews is President and CEO of aQuantive, Inc., which he has led for six successful years including its IPO in 2000 and several major acquisitions. aQuantive was named the fastest-growing technology company in the state of Washington for the five years ending in 2003. McAndrews worked throughout the 1990s for ABC, Inc. in the Sports and Entertainment divisions and for the ABC Television Network. He was previously in product management at General Mills.

Pantanini is the COO of Bromley Communications, overseeing integration and quality standards at the agency's San Antonio headquarters and three US satellite offices. She worked previously for Noble & Associates, which was consolidated with Bromley in 1995.

Association President Bob Barocci says the appointments mean that 'The ARF is now strategically poised to spearhead change that will benefit both its members as well as the entire industry'.
