Conferences Tackle Trends and Multicultural Market

August 10 2005

Two conferences taking place in Miami this autumn will provide an insight into the changing marketplace. Geospace International is presenting new multicultural market intelligence at its summit in October, while an Institute of International Research event in November looks at future trends influencing consumers and businesses.

Geoscape International is due to unveil its new American Marketscape DataStream (AMDS) at its second annual Multicultural Market Intelligence summit taking place from October 5th to 7th. The AMDS will provide population, housing and spending data for the US, with special emphasis on Hispanic, Asian, African-American and other ethnic groups.

The event is aimed those who 'seek to understand the state-of-the-art in marketing to an increasingly diverse American populace'. Other presentations will look at the growth and prosperity of Hispanic and Asian consumers, and the influence of the black population on US culture. Workshops featuring retailers, direct marketers, media companies and marketing agencies will provide insights into fast-growing consumer and business sectors.

The tenth annual Future Trends conference from the Institute of International Research (IIR) is taking place the following month, from November 14th to 16th. It aims to provide actionable information about the latest trends influencing businesses, consumers and the marketplace. Speakers include Cammie Dunaway, Chief Marketing Officer at Yahoo!; Janet Sharp, Senior Manager, Global Trends at Procter & Gamble, who will discuss consumer understanding; and Tom Barr from Starbucks, who will talk about building and maintaining relationships.

IIR expects the delegates to comprise 24% market/consumer research specialists, 24% marketing staff, and 18% business services professionals.
