September 15 2005

US-based audience measurement giant Arbitron has promoted Kathleen Ross to the newly-created position of Chief Administrative Officer. Her duties include leading the company's talent and organizational effectiveness strategies, corporate and marketing communications, and project management and corporate real estate.

Ross, who will oversee and integrate a broad array of staffing and infrastructure initiatives to support growth, joined the company in 1991 and has most recently served as Executive VP, Organizational Effectiveness and Public Relations.

Before Arbitron she was VP, Organization Development and Corporate Communications for Chevy Chase Bank. Previous roles include Director, Human Resources and Planning for the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association, and as an HR Manager at the Student Loan Marketing Association.

CEO and President Stephen Morris says her 'exceptional organization, people and problem-solving skills' will further assist the company 'as it prepares itself and the industry for a new era of electronic audience measurement'.

Ross holds a B.S. degree in psychology from Abilene Christian University, an M.S. degree in human resource management from American University, and a Ph.D. in organizational behavior and development from the School of Business and Public Management of George Washington University.

The company is online at www.arbitron.com.
