IRI to Analyse Boots Shopper Data

October 12 2005

UK pharmacy chain Boots has appointed Information Resources, Inc. (IRI) to provide the store's suppliers with access to sales data from 1.4m Boots Advantage card users. IRI will provide web-based reports, offering instant analysis of customers' shopping behaviour.

The Advantage Card loyalty scheme allows customers to gain points that can be redeemed against products in Boots stores. The card links demographic information about customers with details of their purchases, allowing the store to anticipate consumer needs, and provide personalised in-store offers.

According to Kirsty Harris-Clarke, Account Director at IRI, the data from IRI is 'a must have for all Boots' suppliers'. The daily data will allow suppliers to understand what and how frequently their customers buy, to spot customer trends, and to measure the impact of marketing activities. The shopper data is anonymous, and does not include any personal customer information.

IRI specialises in the consumer packaged goods (CPG), retail, and healthcare industries. The company is online at www.infores.com.
