Business Objects Buys Infommersion

November 3 2005

Business intelligence software provider Business Objects has completed the acquisition of California's Infommersion in a deal worth $40m. Infommersion specialises in providing interactive and visual solutions for data presentation and analysis.

Infommersion's software is designed to help users understand data visually, by converting complex information into presentations for PowerPoint, PDF files, and the Internet. The company's staff come from a variety of backgrounds, including interactive entertainment, IT, multimedia development, and business intelligence.

Business Objects, which was founded 15 years ago, recently reported that it had achieved an annual revenue of one billion dollars. John Schwarz, the company's CEO, says the acquisition 'adds another chapter in Business Objects' long history of delivering innovative products that enable users to gain the most value from corporate information'.

Business Objects has dual headquarters in San Jose, California, and Paris, France. Details of both companies' products are online at www.businessobjects.com.
