VNU Buys Software Provider

VNU Marketing Information has acquired Decisions Made Easy (DME) - a provider of software designed to help FMCG suppliers analyse sales and supply chain data. DME, which has offices in the UK, US and Australia, will be managed as a unit of VNU Marketing Information. Financial terms were not disclosed.

For 15 years, DME has been providing software and analytical services, helping customers manage CPG data using its Cipher and Crunch software. The software helps turn data - from consumer behaviour and demographics to point of sale and space planning information - into supply chain and marketing insights.

Wayne Rigney, CEO of DME says: 'With the high demand for our services, our growing client base, and our push to expand geographically, the time was right to seek an investment partner.'

Speaking of the acquisition, Tom Markert, Chief Marketing and Client Service Officer of VNU Marketing Information, says: 'DME is a great strategic fit for us as we further strengthen our role as a provider of insightful and 'decision-ready' marketing and consumer information.'
