January 4 2006

Business intelligence (BI) software and solutions provider Business Objects has appointed Mark Doll as Senior VP Professional Services. Doll, whose remit is to help lead the company's transition to a more consultative approach, will be based in San Jose, California, reporting to CEO John Schwarz.

Doll has over 20 years of experience in consulting and professional services management, most recently as a partner at Ernst & Young in roles including leader of the consultancy's Security and Technology Solutions group and of its High Growth Practice.

Schwarz says the new arrival brings 'a wealth of experience and expertise in developing high performance consulting organizations' and will help 'lead our team to transition from product enablement services to business intelligence consultancy... Our goal is to develop long-term partnerships with our customers that can help them address the pain points unique to their industry, and help them perform better in their respective marketplaces.'

Business Objects provides BI software to more than 30,000 customers worldwide, including over 80 percent of the Fortune 500. Its BusinessObjects™ XI platform includes the enterprise reporting standard Crystal Reports®. The company has dual headquarters in San Jose, Calif., and Paris, France and is online at www.businessobjects.com.
