WebSurveyor Integrates with Corporate Data Applications

February 2 2006

US-based WebSurveyor has released an updated version of its online survey tool. The new release allows users to feed survey information directly into their companies' own applications. It also includes new reporting and list-management features.

New features in WebSurveyor 5.7 include the following.

  • Application Programming Interface (API). This lets organisations integrate the survey tool with their own CRM, business intelligence, and sales force applications. Customers can use off-the-shelf Extraction, Transformation and Loading (ETL) tools to load survey data on a scheduled basis or can develop custom applications for more complex tasks.
  • New list manager components. These include the capacity to search and filter mail lists for better targeting of survey invitations.
  • New reporting features, including a new default report with cover page, and a customisable executive summary with additional chart options.
  • Rich text editor. This eliminates the need for HTML knowledge when compiling and formatting questions or analysing results.
  • Multi-user account management capacity. This gives administrators control of sub accounts and lets users add their own analysis to each question, and share surveys with other users.
  • Library management feature. This allows customers to upload their own libraries of questions, responses and report templates.
Jeff Beardsley, VP in the company's Survey Tools Group, explains the reasons for the new version: 'Customers needed a survey solution that goes beyond conventional data collection. They are looking for the product that responds to strategic challenges by rapidly gathering, interpreting, presenting and disseminating critical intelligence.'
