Analysis Package Upgraded

March 15 2006

US firm Monitor Software has released a new version of its data analysis application, MarketSight 5.0. The product promises easy analysis of quant data and 'iterative exploration of data as new questions and hypotheses emerge' - and offers simplified analysis of multiple waves of tracking studies.

New features include:

  • Interactive Banner Runs - used to get familiar with survey results and begin forming questions and theories to test, these summarize the results of all questions for key variables. Reports are presented as PDF documents with a table of contents
  • enhanced support for tracking studies. The new Append Data Wizard helps to merge data across waves even where there are significant changes between them
  • Statistical Test Automation and Optimization - the new version features an expanded set of statistical tests, and functionality that claims to 'always select and run appropriate tests based on the characteristics of survey data'. Options include the ability to display p-values, set confidence levels and apply different comparison tests, or select more conservative statistical testing approaches.
A wide range of usability enhancements round off the new release - including automated variable creation for 'top box' and other common groupings, expanded export capabilities and homepage and navigation improvements.

Monitor Software is the software division of Monitor Group, based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The software's home page is at www.marketsight.com
