META Director Joins Ventana

Ventana Research, a US-based performance management research and advisory services firm, has announced that Tim Harmon has joined the company as Senior Vice President of IT Research and Services.

Harmon brings more than 25 years of industry and management experience in IT and data governance, outsourcing, master and metadata management, business intelligence and process management. He joins from META Group, now part of Gartner, where he spent eight years, latterly as a Research Director. He launched the firm's retail and distribution strategy service, and also worked in Europe and Asia-Pacific.

Mark Smith, Ventana Research CEO and EVP of Research, comments, 'Tim is a talented leader and his extensive understanding of the research business and the IT market will help us meet our client's needs.' Harmon himself says Ventana is giving industry research a much-needed makeover: 'its emphasis on information technologies that enable Performance Management is coming at a time of critical need, when companies are demanding to get more value and effectiveness out of their IT assets for supporting Operations and Finance.'
