Provalis Research has released a new version of its WordStat 5.1 text mining and content analysis tool. The software analyses large collections of unstructured data such as open-ended responses, interview transcripts, speeches and articles.
Text mining tasks supported include taxonomy building, automatic tagging and retrieval, categorization and classification of documents, and knowledge discovery, as well as quant and qual content analysis.
Key new features include an improved phrase extraction routine with built-in crosstabulation, overlap identification, and filtering; better graphics and charts; enhanced support for disambiguation rules, and enhanced ergonomics.
Provalis, which also offers the Simstat advanced statistical analysis tool, is on the web at www.provalisresearch.com .
