Senior Hires for AMR Research

May 26 2006

AMR Research has announced three appointments bolstering its expertise in supply chain and IT governance. Steve Hochman, Michael Barrett and Ian Finley all join at Research Director level.

Hochman will focus on trends in supply globalization and tactics for agile supply network response. He joins from New Balance Athletic Shoe, where he directed sales operations and led the worldwide re-design of the company's supply planning processes. He was also the Executive Vice President at SupplyChange and the co-founder of Lucy Activewear.

Barrett will be responsible for researching merchandising and supply chain processes and technologies in inventory management, demand planning, lifecycle pricing, and PLM. Prior to AMR Research, he was a senior manager in the retail consulting practice at Kurt Salmon Associates (KSA); and prior to that, he managed merchandise planning, allocation, open-to-buy, replenishment, and markdowns in the men's apparel and home goods divisions at May Department Stores Company.

Finley's remit covers strategy and best practices in IT governance. Before joining AMR, he was VP of Marketing for Formation Systems. Earlier, he ran product marketing for Open Market and helped Marcam Corporation define, develop, and market its suite of next-generation object-oriented applications.

According to Tony Friscia, the company's President and CEO, the three are 'thought leaders in their areas of coverage who bring tremendous acumen and enthusiasm to their new roles', who 'bolster our leadership position in coverage of supply chain, retail, and next generation architecture'.
