Change for Strategic Vision

August 31 2006

US consultancy Strategic Vision has this week named Alexander Edwards President of its Automotive Division, with responsibility for the New Vehicle Experience Study (NVES). He replaces Dan Gorrell, who has led the NVES programs since 1994.

Edwards was previously the Partner-in-Charge of Research and Consulting, managing the NVES' core analytics and creating the algorithms to execute the firm's statistical models and concepts. He has been with Strategic Vision for the last twenty-two years. In his new role he will implement a comprehensive, integrated program that will create a cyclical model from purchase process along the 'path to loyalty' as developed by himself and founder Dr. Darrel Edwards.

Gorrell has resigned his position as Partner and Head of Automotive to form a management consulting company for the sector. Of his successor, Gorrell says there is 'no-one in the industry who will do the job that Alexander will do', adding 'I have worked closely with him as a mentor, partner, and close friend and trust his competence and skills completely'. Dr. Edwards says Gorrell has 'set an industry standard': 'Dan has been a revolutionary in the industry. He has taken the ordinary buyer's study and replaced it with a comprehensive study of the consumer.'

Sharon Shedroff, a Founding Member of the organization, will assume the Presidency of the Consumer Division with worldwide responsibility.

Strategic Vision is headquartered in San Diego and counts many heads of state among its clients as well as major corporates. Once famously described by then PM Margaret Thatcher as the world's 'quietest, most influential research and consulting organization', it is online at www.strategicvision.com .
