Networks Specialist Joins ABI

ABI Research has hired Stan Schatt as VP and Practice Director, Networking. In addition to leading the networking research practice he will author his own research focused on Wi-Fi and other LAN and WAN topics.

He worked as Research Director for Ziff-Davis Market Intelligence before joining Giga Information Group, which was merged with Forrester. As the latter's VP and Research Director for Networks and Communications he covered all aspects of LAN switching, wireless and cabled, publishing more than 50 full-length reports and hundreds of short reports. From Forrester Schatt moved to Current Analysis, where he was VP of Research managing a team of 22 analysts working on wireless and home networking topics.

Schatt will be based in Carlsbad, California. The author of more than 25 books, Schott held a Fulbright Professorship to Japan, where he taught at Tokyo and Keio Universities. He holds a BA in Chemistry from Arizona State University, an MBA from Thunderbird, and a PhD in English from the University of Southern California.
