G & S Launches Data Filtering Tool

September 11 2006

Pharma and biotech firm G & S Research has launched NaviGRANT(SM), an online data filtering tool which finds, tracks, and analyzes biomedical research grant trends, via its G & S Discovery division.

G & S Discovery focuses exclusively on market intelligence for life sciences. Subscription-based, the NaviGRANT tool uses a proprietary search algorithm to compile detailed information on life science grants and funding trends, for use by marketers and sales professionals making targeting, forecasting, and product development decisions. It incorporates information sources like the NIH CRISP and NSF and uses the 'market basket' concept which groups grants in areas like stem cell research and apoptosis.

G & S says the 'vast amounts of information' on the annual $28bn of US non-profit and government funds for the sector present specialists with a 'challenge' and with 'cumbersome work' filtering data. The tool also allows users to integrate award data with their own information.

VP and Product Manager Mark Walker comments: 'Grant funding is a key, predictive gauge of product demand for suppliers. NaviGRANT provides pointed, timely, actionable data—as well as user-friendly reports and other deliverables—that can be used to align sales and marketing strategies.'

More detail on NaviGRANT is available at www.navigrant.com or via the division's web site www.gs-discovery.com .
