New CMO for Business Objects

Business intelligence specialist Business Objects has appointed Marge Breya, formerly of BEA and Sun Microsystems, as Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer. Her role will include management of the company's product line businesses.

The latter include the enterprise information management, core business intelligence, and mid-market teams.

Breya, who will report to CEO John Schwarz, has more than 20 years of technology marketing management experience. Most recently, she was Senior VP and CMO of BEA Systems; prior to this she was Senior Vice President, Marketing for global sales operations at Sun Microsystems.

Schwarz comments: 'Marge is a proven industry executive with a track record of setting business strategy and building the brand value that enable achieving market objectives at successful, global high technology companies... Our customers are looking to us to enable them to transform the way they work through the use of intelligent information. Marge will have the responsibility to lead the process of translating this vision into a business reality.'
