Google's Analyst Ad Man Joins CBS

Patrick Keane, previously Head of Advertising Sales Strategy at Google and a former Jupiter Research analyst, has been named Executive VP, Chief Marketing Officer at recently formed CBS Interactive. His role includes management of the firm's efforts in online research, reporting and analytics as well as competitive research and SEO.

Keane will help CBS implement systems to market and sell its content on a growing variety of emerging media platforms and expand the company's roster of advertisers. He will work closely with David F. Poltrack, Chief Research Officer for CBS and President, CBS VISION as well as divisional Presidents Jo Ann Ross and George Schweitzer.

He spent more than four years at Google, heading up the group responsible for developing and managing strategic plans and relationships to grow its advertising customer base. He worked previously as VP and Senior Analyst at Jupiter Research, leading its Online Advertising service and researching the buying and selling of interactive media.
