TNS Makes Senior Appointments

TNS has announced three senior appointments. Dawn Airey and Drummond Hall join the board as independent non-executive directors, with effect from 12 April, while David Reim joins TNS Healthcare in the new position of Group President, US.

Airey is currently MD of Channels and Services at Sky Television, but will leave in April to become Chief Executive of media group, Iostar. She was previously CEO of television company, Five and prior to that held a number of senior positions in British television.

Hall, aged 57, is Senior Independent Director at Mitchells & Butler plc and recently stepped down from the role of Chief Executive of Dairy Crest plc. Prior to that he held marketing positions in Procter & Gamble, Mars and Pepsi-Cola, before moving to HP Bulmer plc, where he became Managing Director of the Cider and Beer Division.

Chairman Donald Brydon says then two new NEDs have 'specialised knowledge that is highly relevant to TNS' media and consumer operations and significant business experience that will be beneficial to the group's future development.'

Reim will lead TNS Healthcare's US account management, portfolio and operations teams, and will work with the European and Asia-Pacific leadership to ensure global consistency in quality and service. In addition, he is charged with co-ordinating the group's Global Account Planning for key clients.

He founded the healthcare advertising agency SimStar, in 1993, and two years later switched its focus to Internet-based marketing. The firm was on INC Magazine's Fast 500 list of fast-growing private companies four years in a row and Reim was named 'CEO of the Year' for the eastern region by PriceWaterHouseCoopers. An agency of record to most of the leading pharmaceutical firms, SimStar was sold in June 2005 to Rosetta Marketing. Reim began his career in the technology sector, working for Sun Microsystems.
