Sports MR Specialist Opens in Hong Kong

London-based Comperio Research, has opened an office in Hong Kong and appointed its Head of New Business Development James Dick to run the new operation.

Comperio is part of US sports marketing and media group, IMG, and was launched in 2002 to provide sports, sponsorship, tourism, media and events research services to big-ticket clients such as Tennis Australia, the Wimbledon Championships, Silverstone and Le Mans.

The firm has already established local offices in Europe, North America and India and James Dick, who is now Head of New Business Development Asia, explains that the latest move is in response to the growing requirement for its services in the Far East. 'Looking towards the Beijing Olympics in 2008, this is most definitely the right time for us to raise our profile in Asia. We've recently won a number of contracts across the region and realise that if we want to build on this success we need to serve our Asian clients locally.'

Dick has been with Comperio for nearly five years, prior to which he was a senior consultant at CRS Banking, and beforehand worked as part of the sales and analysis team at Prudential Securities.
