Hansa Partners with GCR

May 30 2007

India's Hansa Research has taken an equity stake in US-based Gartner offshoot GCR Custom Research, and announced a partnership to expand both company's services in the US and globally.

The deal links the partners' service portfolios and business development resources. The scale and price of Hansa's stake were not disclosed.

The companies believe the partnership will allow them to enter new and emerging markets and provide their clients with an expanded range of services and resources. Bob Falcone, CEO of GCR Custom Research explains: 'Hansa Research can provide research best-practices and services to new clients and markets while we continue to provide excellent service to our current clients'.

According to Ashok Das, MD of Hansa Research, 'Our strategic partnership with GCR adds a new dimension to our service portfolio, even as we add depth and width of resources to enable GCR to do what they do even better.'

Hansa Research is part of marketing communications group R K SWAMY + HANSA. The firm has more than 200 full time employees based at its Mubai, Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore and Kolkata sites in India, as well as an office in Chicago. GCR Custom Research was formed in 1979 to conduct primary research for Fortune 500 technology companies from its Portland, Oregon headquarters and offices across the States and Canada. It formed part of Gartner until October 2005 when it was sold to Catalyst Acquisition Group (www.mrweb.com/drno/news4674.htm ).

The partner companies, both of which are privately owned, are online at www.hansaresearch.com and www.gcrinsight.com .
