Like-Minded Hire for TwoMinds

June 12 2007

Recent UK start-up TwoMinds Research is growing already; its 'combination of applied neuroscience and Jungian philosophy' proving irresistible for the new arrival, sociologist Helen Light.

Light joins as Project Manager, based at the firm's central London office, from business and consumer brand consultancy, Link Consumer Strategies, where she worked as Senior Research Executive/Account Manager for the past four years. In this role she managed both qual and quant projects, with a particular emphasis on brand positioning, new product development, category management and strategic implementation. Prior to this, Light was a Research Executive at JMA Marketing & Research. She has a BSc in Sociology and Social Policy from the University of Southampton.

TwoMinds is a subsidiary of Australian firm, Woolcott Research which employs techniques that use human psychology to uncover the workings of the unconscious mind. The UK firm's philosophy is based on the same premise that a more complete picture of rational and intuitive consumer behaviour can be formed by accessing both the conscious and unconscious.

Commenting on her new role, Light said: 'There is something really intriguing about understanding people's unconscious attitudes and associations. The combination of applied neuroscience and Jungian philosophy made TwoMinds an obvious choice for me.'

The firm was launched last year and is headed by former Infratest Burke qual specialist, Simon Vangelder (www.mrweb.com/drno/news6479.htm ), who has introduced a range of new techniques to the firm's portfolio of services, including adapting the principles behind improvisational comedy for games and exercises used in client workshops and group discussions.

UK firm and parent company are online at www.twomindsresearch.co.uk and www.woolcott.com.au respectively.
