Launch of Analytics Firm A1

US marketing solutions firm Analytic Innovations has launched a new division, A1 Research, to provide clients with advanced analytic solutions to solve large-scale business problems.

The new team will be led by Huayin Wang who was formerly Statistical Research Assistant at the National Opinion Research Center. The team's approach will include the use of analytic algorithms which the firm says go beyond traditional data segmentation and modeling techniques. These can be applied to projects that require advanced data mining to extract customer preferences and product features from transaction history.

Stuart Taylor, President and CEO says that the techniques have been developed for businesses which sell a variety of products to a large customer base within a rapidly changing or new market. Taylor added: 'We are developing new ways of approaching customer data that not only serve as advanced diagnostic tools, but also as methods of discovery to identify issues and solutions that may not be apparent to the client.'

Wang joined Analytic Innovations in 1995 and currently leads research on technologies in customer analytics, transactional data mining and predictive modeling. He has a Masters degree in Sociology from the University of Chicago and a Bachelors degree in Fluid Dynamics from the University of Science and Technology of China. Wang is a member of the Association for Computing Machinery and American Marketing Association.

Founded in 1988 as Krumm & Associates, the Chicago headquartered firm also has offices in Oak Park, Illinois and in Atlanta.
