eDigitalResearch Launches Word-of-Mouth Service

UK-based agency eDigitalResearch has launched eProductRating, a service allowing consumers to record their personal feedback about products and services allowing manufacturers to build online brands through word-of-mouth recommendation.

The new service collates consumer-generated content and can be programmed to provide automated 'star' ratings and moderated results. The responses are collected for automatic analysis within the eDigitalResearch reporting system, which can then be fed through to a client's product teams.

Director Michelle Fuller says the burgeoning use of Web 2.0 has allowed e-retailers to tap into their consumers' enthusiasm for providing opinion. She explains: 'eProductRating allows e-retailers to react to genuine, free expression from their target audience. The subsequent analysis and automatic ratings also allow for immediate appraisal of product progress.'

eDigitalResearch opened in Hampshire in the UK in 1999. The firm, which provides online market research and develops integrated web-based research tools, recently launched its eDigitalCommunities service which helps companies set up interactive forums to collect feedback from their web site visitors (www.mrweb.com/drno/news6871.htm ).
