Social and Economic Specialist Joins Abt

Jacob A. Klerman has joined healthcare and government researcher Abt Associates as a Principal Associate in the Social and Economic Policy division.

Jacob A. KlermanIn addition to working on specific projects, he will play a role in training and mentoring, and will join the company's Fellows, a small group of senior staff.

He brings more than 20 years of experience in social policy research, most recently at the RAND Corporation, where he was Senior Economist, Director of the RAND Center for the Study of Social Welfare Policy, and Professor of Economics at the Pardee RAND Graduate School. Here he focused on military manpower, welfare reform, fertility and female labor supply, and econometric methodology, and helped advance quant methodologies including non-experimental program evaluation, hazard modeling and panel data techniques.

Klerman, a former chair of the U.S. Census Bureau's Advisory Committee of Professional Associations, holds an M.A. in Economics from the University of Chicago, and a B.S. in Economics-Applied Mathematics from Brown University.
