Research Trio Make Small Screen Debut

September 10 2007

Three US-based technology and MR veterans have launched a new company, MultiMedia Intelligence, focusing on markets and technologies for delivering IP video to the 'nth screen' - the growing range of new consumer and commercial devices incorporating display screens.

Mark Kirstein, Frank Dickson and Rick Sizemore have more than 70 years of industry experience between them. The firm will offer market research, market development services and consulting.

The expression 'nth screen' builds on the idea of the classic 'three screens' which are TVs, mobile handsets, and computers, and refers to the growing diversity of wireless and wireline networks; mobile, consumer electronic and commercial platforms all vying for content, ad spend and customers.

President Mark Kirstein says the company's strength lies in the experience and knowledge of its people and their 'decades of experience both in market intelligence and directly in technology and media industries'. He continues: 'Our careers range from marketing, to sales, to analysis, to executive management, to entrepreneurship, to engineering.'

'Our goal is to examine the entire IP video ecosystem from media to semiconductors', says Dickson, the firm's Chief Research Officer.

Kirstein previously founded the multimedia market research company, Minova Technology, which formed the basis of multimedia research coverage for high profile analyst iSuppli, under Kirstein's lead as VP. He worked previously at In-Stat as VP and General Manager, leading business strategy, sales, operations, business development and market analysis.

Dickson is the former General Manager of MicroDesign Resources and Publisher of Microprocessor Report and Microprocessor Forum, and like Kirstein is a former Vice President with In-Stat, having led its Convergence Group.

Sizemore's 25 years' experience covers leading technology suppliers including Intel, Burr Brown, STMicroelectronics (STM), and TCL. He also founded consulting firm, TRIMM (Total Research in MultiMedia) in the early 1990s.

The new company is online at www.multimediaintelligence.com.
