Maktoob to Monitor the Middle Eastern Mobile

Maktoob Research, a subsidiary of Arab Internet portal Maktoob.com has launched a syndicated mobile study, polling 1,000 mobile users in each of Egypt and Saudi Arabia, and 700 each in Jordan and Lebanon.

It is just over a year since the portal announced the launch of a dedicated commercial research unit to exploit its online consumer database - the region's largest (www.mrweb.com/drno/news5944.htm ). The new online panel includes coverage of:

  • the psychographics of mobile users: their perception of ads, their role models and their lifestyle activities
  • mobile usage and attitude, including motivations and barriers to usage
  • satisfaction levels
  • spending and churn trends, and
  • preference for handsets and value added services.
