Flat panel research specialist DisplaySearch has added eleven new people to its analysis and support teams worldwide. They include Rich Alires as VP of North America Business Development, and Michael Boo, Calvin Hsieh and Hidetoshi Himuro as Directors in Korea, Taiwan and Japan, respectively.

Alires brings more than 20 years of information industry experience, most recently as Executive VP for NPD subsidiary Current Analysis West, Inc. an NPD Group company. Before helping to found Current Analysis West in 1997 he worked for Xerox, Dataquest and Computer Intelligence Infocorp (now ZDMI).

Boo, who becomes Director, TFT-LCD Market & Technology Research, DisplaySearch Korea, worked in strategic planning for investment, competitive analysis and market research at Samsung Electronics for nearly 17 years.

Hsieh, who takes the position of Research Director, DisplaySearch Taiwan, has more than ten years of experience in product marketing roles, most recently at manufacturer Proview Electronics as Product Marketing Director; and previously at Hannspree and various roles in software development and e-commerce.

Himuro becomes Director of IT Market Research, DisplaySearch Japan, following 22 years in product planning, engineering and development roles at NEC companies including NEC Personal Products (NECP), NEC-Mitsubishi Electric Visual Systems (NMV) and NEC Home Electronics/NEC Corporation.

DisplaySearch has also made seven other hires:
