Experian Strengthens Latin American Leadership

January 23 2008

More Latin American moves: now database and information giant Experian has boosted its regional management by hiring Francisco Valim as COO and Elcio Anibal de Lucca as President of Corporate Affairs.

Valim was previously President of cable TV firm Net Servicos de Comunicacao and before this, CFO at Oi (Telemar) and VP at Groupo RBS. He has a Master's degree in Business Administration from Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, and completed his MBA in Multinational Enterprises Management and Financial Administration at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. In his new role, Valim will be responsible for the operation of Experian's businesses throughout Latin America.

de Lucca brings more than three decades of financial markets experience to his new post, having previously been President of consumer credit bureau Serasa. He is a graduate in Administration from Fundacao Getulio Vargas (FGV) in Sao Paulo, and in his new position, he will assume strategic responsibilities as a member of the Experian Latin America Management Board, while supervising regional corporate citizenship activities and the management of government relations.

Valim and de Lucca will both report to Rick Gallagher, President of Experian Latin America, who says the appointments 'underline the commitment of Experian with regard to both Brazil and Latin America'.

Experian employs 12,000 people in 28 countries, has annual sales of more than $2.5bn and is online at www.experian.com.
