TNS Combines HK and Singapore Activities

TNS has merged its Hong Kong and Singapore operations and appointed Wade Garland as MD of the combined group, while existing Singapore MD Grant Bertoli will now manage TNS in Thailand, Malaysia and the Philippines.

Garland joined TNS following the company's takeover of NFO, where he had worked as General Manager of the Singapore office (www.mrweb.com/drno/news4390.htm ). He is currently MD for Hong Kong.

Before becoming MD of TNS Singapore, Bertoli was Regional Director of TNS Intersearch in the US, as well as VP of Miriad, one of TNS' branded research techniques. He also previously worked as Research Director at TNS Taiwan.

'The businesses in Hong Kong and Singapore are similar in structure,' explained Garland. 'The type of projects we are now receiving demand more scale and more resources. Basically we will now operate as two offices of one company.'

There will be no redundancies as a result of the merger, and the HR and administration departments for each country will remain in situ. TNS is online at www.tns-global.com.
