ESPN Hires Insights Specialist

In the US, sports broadcaster and publisher ESPN (Entertainment and Sports Programming Network) has appointed Barry Blyn as Vice President, Consumer Insights.

Blyn joins from Sterling Brands where he was SVP Strategy in charge of client brand positioning projects. Prior to this, he worked for nine years at Comedy Central where he rose to the position of VP, Programming Research. He commenced his research career as an Analyst with political consultancy Peter hart Associates, having graduated from the University of Michigan with a BA and from the NYU with a Masters in Business.

Based in New York, Blyn will report to Artie Bulgrin, Senior VP, Research and Sales Development, who comments: 'Barry's breadth of experience and unique skills will enable us to build an industry leading fan intelligence programme which will help grow ESPN's brand extensions across multiple platforms.'
