Kinesis Updates With Multilingual Capabilities

February 22 2008

In the US, survey and panel management software firm Kinesis Survey Technologies has upgraded its survey platform to include full support for multi-mode (web/wireless) multilingual projects.

The updated system can now handle surveys requiring the use of characters for all common languages including Arabic, Korean, Vietnamese, Thai, Chinese and Japanese.

Kinesis' translation software utilises XML document format, which fully automates translations of similar sentences and phrases. An XML document format contains all question texts, button labels, and other customisable text, and local data such as date format and currency.

The firm says that these updates, when combined with real-time custom-reporting tools, provide a 'comprehensive solution' for most complex web surveys, while supporting mobile research applications.

Kinesis was founded in June 2003 to employ wireless technology to fill in gaps within the market research industry. The firm has just been awarded a trademark for its survey solution for Computer Assisted Mobile Interviewing (CAMI), which enables respondents to access and take surveys over the wireless web.

Headquartered in Austin, Texas, the firm is online at www.kinesissurvey.com.
