Bolloré Makes Fifth Bid for Aegis Representation

April 10 2008

Vincent Bolloré, Chairman of communications group Havas, will make a fifth attempt to secure representation on the Board of Synovate's parent company Aegis, in which he is the biggest single shareholder.

In advance of Aegis's forthcoming AGM, Bolloré has put forward a resolution urging shareholders to vote Philippe Germond and Rogert Hatchuel on to the Aegis Board of Directors - a request that has already been rejected on four occasions by Aegis on the grounds that Bolloré's major stake in rival company Havas represents a conflict of interest. On each occasion, Aegis says the requests have been rejected by more than 90% of non-Bolloré shareholders.

Bolloré argues that he should have representation on the Aegis Board, as he owns a 29.9% share of the group.

The Aegis Board said today in a statement that it will make recommendations to all shareholders ahead of its AGM, which will be held on 23 May 2008.

Bolloré was ranked 458th in Forbes Magazine's World's Billionaires 2007 rich list. Web sites are at www.aegisplc.com , www.havas.com and www.bollore.com .
