New VP to Build Research Team at TV Group ION

ION Media Networks has appointed Carole Smith as Vice President of Research. Based in New York, she is charged with building a strong research department to design and conduct qual and quant research.

She joins from MTV Networks where she served as Vice President of Research, responsible for all market research activities for three of its cable television and multi-platform divisions, VH1, CMT and Logo.

After starting her career managing broadcast research at advertising firm McCann-Erickson, Inc., she worked in research positions at Univision and the ABC Television Network. Smith holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Connecticut and completed the Developing Managers Program through ABC Inc./Simmons College.

According to CMO Eleo Hensleigh, 'We are thrilled to have Carole join our team. Her comprehensive research knowledge and diverse media experience will greatly support ION Television's strategic repositioning as a general entertainment destination targeting the 25-54 demographic.'
