New CEO, New Location for Island Data

Customer intelligence specialist Island Data Corporation has hired veteran enterprise software industry leader Craig D. Brennan as President and CEO; and has announced it is moving its sales, marketing, and executive headquarters from Carlsbad, CA to San Francisco.

Brennan has two decades of enterprise software experience. He is the former President and CEO of Brio Software Inc., a $100+ million publicly-traded business intelligence software company. Past jobs also include President and CEO of Tumbleweed Communications Corporation; Senior VP of the Customer Relationship Management Group at Oracle Corporation; and a partner at Deloitte Consulting. He earned his MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management, and a BA degree from the University of Michigan.

Island Data's Chairman of the Board Jim Sanger says Brennan's 'track record of profitable growth in the most challenging and competitive sectors of the enterprise software industry' are ideal for the task ahead, and describes him as 'a visionary who will grow Island Data to become the leading customer intelligence SaaS software company'.

Island Data delivers real-time customer intelligence which it claims 'goes beyond conventional market research tools'. Its SaaS (software-as-a- service) offering Insight RT™ pulls actionable intelligence from unstructured customer-generated content. The company is funded by two venture capital firms, New York-based Dolphin Equity Partners, L.P. and Waltham, MA-based ABS Ventures.

Of the office move, Brennan describes San Francisco as 'the global center for software-as-a-service (SaaS) development and emerging technology in consumer-generated content', giving the firm access to talent, customers, support services and media outlets. The company pursues flexible working hours and telecommuting policies, and Brennan says the move will 'enable us to leverage the public transportation and data network infrastructure to keep our business operations efficient and ensure good quality of life for our employees who live in the city and all over the Bay Area.'
