MR Recruitment Practice Opens in Asia

September 8 2008

In Singapore, Pauline Chia and Andrew Wood have opened Asia Talent - a market research recruitment consultancy, serving the needs of the industry across Asia.

Prior to the launch, Chia and Wood both gained research experience in the region, having worked agency and client side, as well as in the recruitment, training and mentoring of researchers.

Wood has worked both agency and client side, before becoming involved in MR recruitment across the region. He worked with AMI/Synovate in Asia and Western Europe, and most recently with ENI.

Chia has also worked on both supplier and buyer sides. Her recent experience includes senior research roles with Philip Morris, Coca Cola and Kellogg's.

The pair say their backgrounds have provided them with a depth of local and regional knowledge, together with an understanding of the nuances and idiosyncrasies of the markets in the region, and the research providers and research buyers operating in those markets.

'The demand for good researchers is ever-increasing, while the availability of pre-screening and preliminary interviewing time for potential employers is ever decreasing, states Wood. 'Asia Talent has the experience, agility and prompt responsiveness not only to free the employers time but also to ensure only the most appropriate candidates are interviewed.'

The company will focus exclusively on the market research industry and its needs in the region, says Chia, adding: 'We do not profess to be all things to all people.'

The firm's web site is up and running at: www.asiatalent.asia . Asian MR jobseekers can find the new firm's first ads and those of other consultants and employers on MrWeb via www.mrweb.com/jobs/asivtday.htm .
