December 3 2008

Global thinktank, The Society for New Communications Research (SNCR), is calling for applications to join its volunteer-based Fellowship program, to help develop best practices and standards for social media metrics and measurement.

Non-profit, US-based SNCR is dedicated to advanced research and education on the latest developments in new media and communications and their effect on business, culture, and society

Those who are selected will collaborate with the other SNCR Fellows on original research and educational programs, including the SNCR's research/education roadmap. The roadmap will also focus on:

  • Adoption of Web 2.0 tools and technologies by small businesses and enterprises
  • Adoption of social media by the higher education sector
  • New developments in mobile media
  • New business models for news organizations
  • Shifts in business and economic behavior resulting from the growing impact of social media.
Those interested in joining the year-long program must provide a detailed summary of their professional and academic background, three professional/academic references, and a project proposal that is in line with the roadmap. The application deadline is December 29, 2008.
