Kadence Hires Head for Malaysian Insight Team

April 21 2009

Global b2b research agency Kadence has appointed Jo-Ann Foo as Associate Director, to head up its Malaysian insight team based in Kuala Lumpur, and capitalise on the business links between Malaysia and her home country of Australia.

Jo-Ann FooFoo joins from Illuminas in London where as Associate Director, she specialised in B2B and consumer research in the telecoms, financial services and energy sectors. Prior to this, she worked for Eureka Strategic Research in Sydney, Australia. She holds a Bachelor of Business (Honours in Marketing) from the University of Technology, Sydney.

'Jo-Ann has achieved a lot in her eight years in the industry and is definitely one to watch,' Group Chairman Simon Everard comments. 'I have no doubt that her skills, ambition and passion for research will not only strengthen our existing team in Malaysia but also benefit our international clients as they look to expand their market research activity in Asia-Pacific.'

Foo, who will initially be based at the company's London office, says this is an 'exciting time' for delivering research in the Asia-Pacific region.

'The economic downturn is less pronounced, enabling businesses to use insight to increase their competitive edge both domestically and globally,' she states. 'I'm looking forward to the challenge of working in a relatively young research market and, hopefully, being able to help shape the industry itself as it continues to grow in size and sophistication.'

Kadence was founded in 1992, and now has offices in Boston, London, Delhi, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Singapore and Hong Kong.

The firm recently reported revenue of US$7.8m in the six months to December 2008 - 40% up on the same period a year before.
