New Online Tool Measures Gamer Sentiment

May 12 2009

US game testing firm Absolute Quality (AQ) has launched a real-time social media analysis tool to gauge how users of interactive entertainment feel about the products available in the marketplace.

The firm says that gamers regularly share insights and comments about interactive entertainment products and accessories on blogs, message boards, review and shopping web sites, as well as other social media platforms.

Its new service provides gaming publishers and developers with these insights to help them understand their customers' demands and desires, while increasing brand recognition and enhancing revenue generating activities.

AQ's new customizable tool searches the Internet for recent comments and then delivers detailed analysis about the general tone - positive, neutral or negative - of gamers' sentiments.

Dashboards provide daily, weekly, monthly and year-to-date tracking of social media conversations, with analysis conducted across brands, sub-brands, game titles and even specific features within a game title. These also provide information about how consumers are discussing competitors' game titles.

'With this new social media analysis service, game developers can turn valuable information into targeted activities that increase revenue, build brand loyalty, improve the gaming experience and drive competitive differentiation,' stated Shirish Netke, President of AQ's parent, e4e Interactive Entertainment Services.
