Video and Web 2.0 Analysis Tool Launched

July 7 2009

Social measurement firm Viralheat has launched a social media monitoring and analytics tool, which tracks 200 video sites, Twitter and real-time blogs and web sites.

Viralheat was founded in January and aims to enable brands, agencies, marketers and content producers to monitor consumer generated content on social networks.

Users log onto the new platform and enter the search terms on the sites they want to track. The tool then enables users to see when a search term appears on any web page, and provides an up-to-the-minute listing of blogs and web sites where a topic or brand is being discussed.

With the video tracking capabilities, users are provided with detailed statistics about how videos spread virally and where they are being shared. Analysis includes the total number of videos found, the video receiving the most views, and the video platform that currently has the most downloads.

Twitter analysis includes detailed analytics about volume, sentiment, trends and other statistics, and the tool also enables Tweets to be e-mailed directly from the site so they can be shared with team members or clients.

The service has been built with input from a wide-range of customers including music labels, TV networks, brands, government agencies, financial institutions, digital and public relations agencies, and more than 250 customers who have been using the service in private beta.

Former WebTrends executive and WebSideStory CMO Rand Schulman has also been involved, and comments: 'Today, Viralheat has introduced pricing and technology that everyone can afford, which is key to large-scale commercial adoption of social media.'
